With the opening of the pedestrian mall at 18th and Vine on 2026-05-27, there is no longer any construction on 18th street in front of the museum!
Free public parking is available behind the museum in the lots near the Gregg/Klice Community Center, Urban Youth Academy, and Black Archives of Mid-America.
After parking, follow the sidewalk toward the Jay McShann Pavilion and enter through the museum’s back entrance. Our updated parking map below shows the easiest route.
