The American Jazz Museum is proud to announce the appointment of Jill Johnson as the Interim Executive Director. Jill brings a wealth of executive experience and a deep commitment to organizational excellence.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jill into this pivotal role,” said Stephenie K. Smith, MSW, Chair of the Board. “Her strategic insight and dedication to quality will be instrumental as we continue to advance the Museum’s mission and build toward a vibrant future.”
Jill’s leadership marks an exciting chapter for the Museum, as we deepen our impact, expand community engagement, and honor the legacy of jazz.
Ms. Johnson is a Kansas native and obtained her degree at Wichita State University. She continues her responsibilities as Director of Development at AJM and brings extensive leadership experience. Ms. Johnson comes from a strong background in the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and Hospitality industries. She has served in the capacity as a Director of Development, Vice President of Operations, Interim President of Chamber of Commerce, and other senior leadership positions.
Ms. Johnson’s background in fundraising, operations, and community partnerships will help ensure continuity as the American Jazz Museum moves into its next chapter.
